Rachel has a background in Human Neuroscience (PhD), but after years of intensive computer-based work began experiencing chronic migraines. With a water-mad Labrador and a lifelong passion for dogs, she made the decision to change career and retrain in canine rehabilitation.

Rachel qualified as a Canine Hydrotherapist and established Blue Dog Therapy in 2020. Since then, she has continued to expand her professional knowledge, completing additional qualifications and short courses in canine body language, canine nutrition, geriatric support, and canine fitness conditioning.

She is currently studying towards a Master’s equivalent in Animal Physiotherapy, allowing her to further integrate evidence-based physiotherapy principles into her rehabilitation and hydrotherapy work.

Rachel is passionate about supporting dogs at every stage of life, with a calm, considered approach focused on improving comfort, movement, and overall quality of life.

About Us

Tara has worked professionally with dogs for over ten years, with experience spanning dog walking, behavioural support, and running her own dog daycare centre. Her background has given her a strong practical understanding of canine behaviour, group dynamics, and individual care needs.

After relocating to Norfolk, Tara chose to further develop her skills and qualified as a Canine Hydrotherapist, joining the Blue Dog Therapy team in 2025.

Tara shares her life with a water-mad American Staffy, and brings a calm, patient and compassionate approach to every dog she works with. She is particularly passionate about supporting dogs through rehabilitation and helping them build confidence in the water, always prioritising welfare, comfort and positive experiences.
